HyperPodX I: Founding of a Student Team

In 2016, the HyperPodX Team, composed of about 8 students from the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer and Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, took part in the first-ever SpaceX Hyperloop Design Competition at Texas A&M University. Their initial focus was on conceptual engineering and developing early system designs for a functional hyperloop pod. The team presented an innovative blueprint emphasizing passive levitation and modular safety systems, distinguishing them among more than 100 global teams. Although this event did not involve track testing, HyperPodX established itself as one of Europe’s most promising Hyperloop initiatives.
