Hyperloop Pod Competition 2017 in Los Angeles
At the second Hyperloop Pod Competition in Los Angeles in 2017, HyperPodX transitioned from theory to practice with its first actual prototype pod. The team built a levitating capsule using a passive magnetic suspension system, c braking units, and modular construction. With around 60 interdisciplinary members spanning engineering, computer science, and economics, the team reached the top five worldwide. Their pod successfully demonstrated consistent operation under vacuum conditions, earning praise from SpaceX judges for its safety and design ingenuity. The team came home with the innovation award.
